L5-SI back pain - sciatic nerve
by bjquil, Mar 07, 2007 12:00AM
I have an L5-SI protruding annulus - with sciatic nerve damage on the left side (numbness in left leg). I am being seen at a pain management center and am in the middle of havng shots in my back. I have had a total of 4 so far - each one being in different areas. After each injection they tell me it will take a few days for the shots to take affect, however I hurt worse and the pain intensifies. The last shots I had were the worst - I know havenumbness in the right side - the shot must have hit the sciatic nerve. Now I have numbness in both legs. I am taking tramado hcl 50mg and tizanidinehcl 4mg for the pain and muscle spasms. I have an ulcer and am limited on what I take. Trying to sleep at night is stressful, I wake up every 2 - 3 hours in extreme pain. I went through PT and that did not help - i was in more pain after wards.
I would like to hear from someone who has similar problems and what they have done

Why I Quit Chiropractic :
Initially I had some regard and respect for this guy by name Allen JB for his forum and messages, but while going over all the stuff he has been saying and writing on his forum, it is imperative from his own words and works that at times he is a nut job, he can utter some non-sense about the field of neuromonitoring, simply he can make some vociferous statements about neuromontioring professionals as some kind of fit for nothing but the M.Ds, just because of the way CPT codes work and claims that only a Physician can make, so what Allen. Does this make the highly qualified neuromonitoring professionals any less than the physicians who charge hefty bills for doing nothing?. Man, you got to evolve with better rationale in your discussions, I am still going to keep your link because I want some ignorant Chiros looking for chiro related information may benefit from your forum, not sure how many really benefits, I guess from your writing there is more of them will be driven out of the field than those who continue...!!
